WooWoo! Cindy Sheehan

wants to have a visit with Hillary! LOL! Does it ever stop? Heck, Hillary isn't going to visit with Cindy, either. Poor Cindy, standing there holding a bag full of nothin'. Nothing.

"What a world, what a world." (immortal words spoken by the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz as she began to melt away after Dorothy tossed a pail of water on her.)

That's enough to make me cluck myself to sleep.

A Katrina Volunteer from Houston writes. . .

SO I VOLUNTEERED..........

This went around this morning as a forwarded email. I like to check these things out before I send them along. It turns out to be one man's experience in Houston.

Another thing of note; the NRA is up in arms because the authorities in NO seized legal guns.

Will it ever end?

Doing something about it!

Last night was Vermont's Republican caucus night. I was invited because someone told someone else that I am an "old fashioned" Republican, which I assume means ultra conservative.

Anyway, there were maybe 15 people in attendance. That was a surprise and delight to the chairman. He said there have been years when there were only 3 or 4 who would come. I was the second youngest person there, if that tells you anything. As I understand it, there are about 650 Republicans in our town. Nobody knows for sure because of a Vermont law that does not require one to register their party allegiance, you just register to vote. As far as I can tell the population (21 and older) of the town and village is around 3,300.

I was nominated to be Vice Chair, which I accepted. Might as well get my feet wet in local politics.

Buckskin Mare

Tonight was very special. In fact, the last three weeks have been very special. My two year old buckskin mare has graduated from "started" to "green horse".

But tonight was the best. I rode her bareback for a while at the glooming under a waxing gibbous moon. How glorious. She let me mount her from the mounting log, she did not move or figet, did not seem surprised once I was aboard her. I let her ramble where she wanted to go, not wanting anything of her other than to let me sit on her back while she walked. When she came to a stop, I dropped the reins and we just stood there taking it all in. I tried to keep breathing, it's so important. Lifting my arms up to shoulder height, I closed my eyes and concentrated on my breathing and on feeling the balance.

These two years have had a steep learning curve and finally, we are making progress. It was just about this time last year when twice a day at feeding time she'd like to have kicked me far away or run me down. Times have changed. Children - human and horses alike - grow up, learn some things, get some respect, learn to look for leaders and then follow them.

There's a good story in my story of my horse. My friend has been encouraging me to write it down to give other horse owners some comfort and encouragement. Stay tuned, part one is coming.

On an entirely different subject, I am going to the Republican Caucus tomorrow night. My son-in-law said the roll call should be short enough, lol. At the last Town Meeting Day, all the Republicans running for local offices had to run as Independents because someone dropped the petition ball. Can't have that happen again. There are precious few of us as it is.

PS. mr anonymous, no I do not want to sell all things possible on the internet and certainly NOT with you, so go away. I have visitor tracking on my blog and I was able to tell which ISP you use, so beware. I will report you. Now go play nice with the other little kids, ok?

Google Blog Search for Hours of Fun! - This is the link

Just a couple of blogs I found:

I like this one - California Conservative: No Debate Necessary: How To Talk to a War Protester (If You Must)

I don't like this one, but the conversation takes place in my town, I didn't recognize any of the voices, though I thought I would since so many of my friends are peace-niks. We don't talk politics generally because we'd prefer to be friends.
Good Politics Radio - Vermont Join the Political Communications Revolution

Interesting....Vermont Sex Offender Registry Jeeze, you can see the pictures of sex offenders and read about their offenses. Creepy. Thankfully, there are none registered in my zip code, though there are 10 registered in my county.

Remember when Google was starting up, there was a game you could play. Type in two or more totally unrelated words and see how few results you'd end up with. You couldn't do that with the Google web search engine anymore, too many results. Try it with Google Blog Search. Fun!

Fuming mad

I am so thoroughly disgusted. What in the world ever happened to self sufficiency? How dare those people lie there on their pallets and whine about the government not doing enough to help them? What kind of population have we that relies on the government to the extent that the water is rising and they do nothing to help themselves, unless it's helping themselves to looted things in department stores. Shame on those people!

When you look at the tv (and I can hardly watch the news on any channel anymore) and see the reality of the situation- it's the blacks who are the poor there, it's the blacks who lost everything with no way to recover, it's the blacks who didn't want to leave their homes because that's all they have, it's the blacks who were doing the looting - how can anyone who brings that reality to the attention of the world be called racist?

Who would have thought that the hurricane would have been so disastrous? After all, every weather forecast these days makes every weather event seem like the mother of all storms. Risk of rain, risk of lightening. You just can't talk like that all the time and expect people to listen when it really counts.

People! The people in charge are just people! They don't possess magic or supernatural powers to see into the future. Then, of course, there's politics, which must make it pretty durned hard to make a decision of any kind out of fear for being wrong and having to live with it for the rest of your life.

I can tell you, I am at the end of my rope with this country. I can not find anywhere in my heart to blame Bush for what happened. I can find a million reasons to boycott all things, places and people who smack of being liberal or Democrat. I could start my list with some of the movie stars who went down there for a moment of glory, but will never grace my tv screen again. Oprah, Julia Roberts, Chris Rock (not that I liked him anyway), Lisa Marie Presley, Gayle King. The Good Book says don't pray on a street corner and that is exactly what they were doing.

Gasoline. We are being robbed blind by the oil producers. If I had the power to make it happen, I'd call for a two day total strike in this country. Every single person in this country would sit at home, do not go to work, do not drive your vehicle, do not let your kids go to school, do not shop, do not see a movie, do nothing. Make this country come to a complete stand still. Ha! Failing that, I'd have the whole country stop for one minute and look up, cry to God, Help Us!
